Gold, energy and other commodities are surging, while oil is falling.
The S&P 500 is up 0.5 percent.
Gold has rallied 3.6 percent in the past three months and is up more than 1,000 points this year.
The benchmark was up 2.6 million ounces this week.
Oil is down 5.4 percent this year, its lowest level since November.
The price of crude has also been tumbling.
The oil price is down by more than 20 percent since June, when Brent crude oil was trading at $75 a barrel.
